According to the plot, the scientists of the station have mastered a new technique that combines the vast knowledge of mankind and materials captured from aliens. It is not surprising that unique ships appeared in the area, grown using previously inaccessible technologies. Their main feature is the ability to develop with the help of special xenocrystals.

The first ship to be grown using alien materials was the TharGa attack aircraft. To create a starship, you must first assemble the cockpit capsule, and then build up a special mass around it. TharGa differs from conventional ships by automatically restoring hull and shield strength, as well as the ability to restore them after successful attacks. The starship has an accelerated metabolism, can briefly increase damage and speed by a significant amount. Pilots have access to more than a hundred different modifications, the number of which changes the rank of the ship and its appearance.

In the month that has passed since the start of the update, agile pilots were able to acquire two additional ships, which were announced at the end of December. One of them, the Jericho command attack aircraft, is called the Dart. It is equipped with a unique weapon with powerful damage, which at the same time speeds up the reloading of combat command modules, as well as a special shield that covers the forward hemisphere of the ship with an additional energy field. These modules allow a starship to remain invulnerable for a short time if the pilot has chosen the right position in the thick of the battle. The starship also has the ability to increase the chance of dealing critical damage to itself and nearby allies.


Another interesting ship was the long-range frigate of the Gargoyle Empire, with all its appearance showing that it is not to be trifled with. This huge starship is able to adapt to different battle modes thanks to its modules. A special disintegrator activates a sniper gun, each shot of which deals additional thermal damage to frigates and destroyers, and hitting the target increases the damage of the next shot. The presence of an electromagnetic bosonic cannon allows you to hit enemies with a static charge that deals damage in an area. In mass skirmishes, you should be careful when shooting so as not to hit allies with charges.

A great help for the starship was the combat module, which reduces the rate of fire of the target and at the same time increases the rate of its own guns. The ability to increase the rate of fire of cannons after successfully destroying an enemy ship completes the list of bonuses, which makes the frigate a formidable participant in team battles.


The new ships are certainly good, but at the beginning of the update, only rare pilots could get their hands on them. Now any pilot can earn resources for these ships. It is enough to complete daily tasks for flying in a link with your combat friends. Also, the resources for these ships - control units - will be used in trade between players. The developers promise that the appearance of this feature is not far off.

This brought a noticeable relief to the ranks of the pilots: starships introduced a serious imbalance in the middle ranks, as soon as the first mercenaries were able to take possession of them. But the well-loved TharGa received a reinforced hull and increased turning speed, which allowed him to feel more confident at lower ranks, although many pilots will say that this confidence turned out to be excessive.

Now every second enthusiast is in a hurry to buy powerful equipment, arm himself with powerful weapons (to fight rivals) and go in search of powerful artifacts that can be sold for big money. Each player must be mentally prepared to participate in all this.

Game process

The gamer controls many ships of different stripes - from slow and clumsy cars to high-speed scouts. Ships are designed for different purposes. Personal "transport" is subject to modernization. In addition, your own hangar can be expanded with new copies. Experience is gained in battles. In total, 15 levels and 45 special skills can be found in Star Conflict. What other entertainment options does Star Gem offer? Firstly, "Standard battle", boring and predictable - you need to capture all the enemy beacons. Primitive battles of this kind are not popular, usually most gamers sit in the so-called "Arcade battles". From arcades in which there is no more and no less than in the "Battle for the Sector", but this is so, a lyrical digression. There are four types of "arcade" battles. In Detonation, you need to take EMP - bombs and blow up enemy stations with their help, preventing the enemy from doing a similar trick. In "Beacon Hunt" and "Control" you need to score a given number of control points by capturing certain points. The most interesting thing, for my taste, is "Reconnaissance in combat", where each team has a captain, and while he is alive, you can recover an infinite number of times. Alas, it is impossible to select a specific subspecies of Arcade Battle, although such an option would not hurt.

Do not want to fight with living people, but do you want a plot? To your attention PvE - four special tasks of an attacking and defensive character with bots as opponents. The bots here are not at all as stupid as they are expected of them - they know how to attack en masse, and hide behind shelters (space stations or asteroids), and adequately choose targets. Usually there are a lot of AI-controlled enemies flying out on a mission, my first PvE battle was lost because our quartet of ships imagined themselves to be immortal, having received a natural click on the nose from the first wave of attack aircraft attacking our shipyard. It was then that it became clear that things are bad with respawn in PvE, I would even say disgusting. And rightly so, there was no point in pretending to be four musketeers and climbing on interceptors into the thick of it.

Technique

Stop. I have already described a lot of things here, but for some reason I did not bother to tell about the terms. Vehicles in Star Conflict are divided into three classes: interceptors, attack aircraft and frigates. Simplified, they could be called light, medium and heavy ships, but we will not do this. Why? Yes, because each subspecies has its own role. And if a frigate with a phase shield installed should be closer to the imaginary front line, supporting its own, the stars themselves ordered the Imperial with the disintegrator to stand further away and sting more painfully. In the end, his supergun hits 10-12 kilometers, which is almost the maximum range for a weapon.

Theoretically, of course, you can try to achieve a similar range from an attack aircraft, for example. In Star Conflict, there are a lot of combat and auxiliary modules, by installing which you, one way or another, change the characteristics of the vehicle. For example, increase the damage, but at the same time reduce the accuracy. However, we will be careful not to give any advice on the configuration of ships here, everyone rebuilds the equipment for themselves, and there are simply no universal solutions.

Before flying into the fight, be sure to look into the contracts section, taking on several missions. Completing them raises your reputation with the chosen faction, which means that sooner or later you will get access to new modules, weapons, and vehicles. There were no particular difficulties with the quests, tasks like "Get one victory" or "Deal the final blow using rocket weapons" are completed by themselves. Unless, of course, you do not hang in space, completely forgetting about what is happening and admiring the surface of a nearby planet.

However, it will not work for a long time to admire - someone will definitely fly in and put a couple of missiles into you, finishing off with lasers. Battles in Star Conflict rarely last longer than five minutes, usually with one side gaining an advantage quickly and then confidently winning. Not because of their own coolness, but because of the discord in the camp of rivals. You rarely see the well-coordinated work of fighter or interceptor units, all the professionals seem to have migrated to the “Battle for the Sector”. And the “green” youth loves to rush forward with joyful cries, not thinking that an insidious enemy is hiding behind the neighboring asteroid.

Best space action

Like it or not, we have one of the best space action games in front of us. With a rather large list of modes, a large number of ships and just an incredible number of modules installed on them. Will the tandem of Gaijin and Star Gem be able to promote the project? The fate of those who are not indifferent to the vast expanses of Star Conflict depends on the answer to this question.

After starting the game, pay attention to the "Development" tab. In it, you pump a virtual hero who sits at the helm of a ship. In total, there are thirty-six perks to choose from - twelve per nation. But only one of them is allowed to be taken at each level, and at first it is not easy to be torn between an increase in the speed of restoration of the shield, an increase in its volume, or additional resistance to damage. They have medium weapons, medium armor, average speed. Everything is average, and this makes the ship a good workhorse. Each ship has a special module that gives it a special personality. Stormtrooper has chameleon invisibility for 18 seconds.

Frigates- provide assistance, push directions, capture points, shoot well from afar, carry impressive strength thanks to firepower. Frigates are heavy and clumsy, which is compensated by high survivability. It is quite easy for small nimble ships to spin it, shooting and going into the tail. However, if you play well with it, then the frigate can seriously affect the outcome of the battle. A feature of the frigate is the drones that it can release in order for them to beat the enemy. Drones can also heal allied ships. In terms of intelligence, by the way, game bots can sometimes compete with the players themselves.

You start the game with an attack aircraft of the first rank. There are 15 ranks in total. In each battle, you gain experience, which is called synergy here, which is spent on leveling up. As the level of synergy improves, you unlock access to new ships. You can't sell an old ship. They will just be at your base.

Management is implemented, at first glance, quite simple - keyboard and mouse. But a beginner can get confused in the buttons responsible for different functions ship.

(Yes, in Star Conflict you can also ram the enemy)

Unlike games like WoT, each combat vehicle has parameters such as firing range and cooling down (the more you shoot, the hotter everything gets. In case of overheating, you will not be able to shoot for a while). Overheating exists only in the main weapon. Extras, like missiles, don't have it. But rockets are a consumable material (6 pieces in a clip), so you also need to keep an eye on it. Missiles also differ in range.

Each type of ship has its own modules that can only be installed on this type. For example, frigates (heavy ships) have all sorts of repairers and shield generators that set up a protective field on themselves and allies. For interceptors, these are mainly modules that increase damage to the enemy. For an attack aircraft, these are mainly debuffs.

Of course, there is in the game and the donation system is the same as in any shareware game. That is, you can use it to speed up pumping or decorate your ship with all sorts of stickers, or you can play it completely free, since they give pretty decent money for each battle, and it will be quite easy to save up for your first three ships.

While you are flying, you are given experience, due to which your characteristics increase.
