Plot

The girl Ellie lives in the steppe with her mother and her faithful dog Totoshka. One day, a hurricane, caused by the evil witch Gingema, picks up the van in which Ellie and Totoshka are, and brings it to the Magic Land, where wizards, talking animals and other unusual creatures live. The van crashes directly onto Gingema and the witch is killed, so the Munchkins - residents of the Blue Country - decide that Ellie is a powerful fairy. The wise sorceress Villina predicts that the girl will be able to return home when she reaches the Emerald City and the great wizard Goodwin will fulfill the cherished wishes of three creatures met along the way. Ellie, wearing silver shoes left after the death of Gingema, sets off along the yellow brick road, accompanied by the talking Toto. Along the way they meet the Scarecrow - a straw scarecrow who dreams of gaining intelligence; The Tin Woodman, whose deepest desire is to have a heart; The Cowardly Leo, who wants to become brave. New friends rescue Ellie from the captivity of the Ogre, help her cross the river on a raft, defeat a saber-toothed tiger... The guards of the Emerald City, seeing Ellie in silver shoes for the first time, decide that a fairy has come to them, and allow her and her friends to see Goodwin. The Great and Terrible Wizard appears before them in different guises and announces that he will fulfill all their wishes when friends defeat the evil sorceress Bastinda, who sends Flying Monkeys to the Emerald City, which cover the flowers with sand. Ellie, Scarecrow, Woodcutter, Lion and Toto hit the road again and come to the Violet Country, where the wells are for some reason covered with sand. The stupid Wolf, Bastinda's servant, lets slip that the mistress does not like water: if you splash it on it, it will melt. The Scarecrow suggests going to Bastinda's castle with some water. The witch, wanting to quickly get the magic shoes, forgets about caution and falls into a bucket of water. Local residents of Miguna gain freedom. Ellie finds the wonderful Golden Cap in the castle and becomes the mistress of the Flying Monkeys: they take the girl and her friends back to the Emerald City. There, Goodwin's secret is revealed: the imaginary wizard turns out to be an ordinary artist. Nevertheless, he treats Leo to a tasty drink that “gives courage”; The Scarecrow gives a wreath of roses, in which “the mind is enclosed”; The Tin Woodman has a silk heart inserted into his chest. Then Goodwin is going to fly away with Ellie in a hot air balloon, and leaves the Wise Scarecrow as the ruler of the Emerald City. However, the balloon with Goodwin rises into the sky ahead of time, and the girl remains in the Magic Land. Then she orders the Flying Monkeys to bring Stella, the good witch of the Pink Country. Stella reveals the secret of the silver slippers: you need to click your heel on the heel and say your wish. Ellie and Totoshka return home.

Time passes. Ellie's uncle, the old sailor Charlie, stops by to visit Ellie. The Crow Kaggi-Karr brings a letter from the Scarecrow, from which Ellie learns that her friends are in trouble. It turns out that the eagle owl, who previously served Gingema, brought the gloomy and power-hungry carpenter Oorfene Djus a chest with the life-giving powder of his former mistress. Oorfene learned about his power by accidentally reviving a bear skin, which he stuffed with sawdust, and he got a faithful bear. Then he made several dozen formidable soldiers out of wood and captured the Emerald City. The former ruler Scarecrow ended up in an underground prison, where the soldiers later threw the Tin Woodman and the Brave Lion. Uncle Charlie, Ellie, Kaggy-Carr and faithful Toto go to the Magic Land on a land ship. On the border of the country there are black stones of Gingema, attracting all foreigners, but the crow turns to Villina for help and she eliminates the evil spell with wonderful berries. Ellie, the sailor and Totoshka penetrate into the underground passage, drive away the terrible Six-Legged One along the way, reach the palace prison and get out of it together with their freed friends, sawing through the bars on the window. Totoshka, having learned that Oorfene took the ax from the Woodcutter in order to make new soldiers, knocks the tool away. The sailor tries to shoot back at the wooden army from the ship's cannon, but the cannonballs quickly run out. The entire crew has to abandon the ship, damaged by soldiers' batons. Then the Scarecrow comes up with the idea of catching Oorfene's soldiers using tree resin. The Tin Woodman carves good faces instead of evil faces into the captured wooden figures, and the former warriors become gardeners and foresters to grow new trees in place of the ones cut down. At this time, Oorfene runs out of powder, and the self-proclaimed ruler flees to the dungeon, unable to withstand the onslaught of the rebellious inhabitants of the Magic Land. The Winks repair the landship, and Captain Charlie, Ellie, and Toto return to Kansas.

Ellie is home again. The neighbor boy Tim, having heard about her travels to the Magic Land, also decides to show off to the girl and takes her with him on a boat ride to the Singing Cave. The underground river leads to the Magic Land; confirmation of this is that Totoshka begins to talk again. The friends meet a huge but cute chick, which Tim protects from Six-Legged, and then find themselves in the land of the Underground Miners, ruled by seven kings; everyone has their own day of the week. The Guardian of Time monitors the precise succession of sovereigns and every evening lulls the fathered king to sleep with the Water of Oblivion. Meanwhile, Oorfene Deuce wanders through the underground corridors and, hearing human voices, breaks a pool of soporific water. The water goes into the ground. Oorfene declares to King Tuesday (he is the one who rules on the day of the disaster) that the fairy Ellie, the winner of Gingema and Bastinda, will be able to return the water. A week passes, the rest of the kings wake up, and it becomes difficult for the Keeper of Time to maintain order. Ellie begins to defiantly read spells, and Toto secretly escapes into the underground corridors. The scent leads him to the Emerald City, and the Scarecrow with the Tin Woodman and the Brave Lion rush to the rescue, taking with them a pump and a drill. Having reached the Underground Country, the friends drill the earth, extract the Water of Oblivion, the kings get drunk and fall asleep again (even King Sunday, who is supposed to rule by the hour, drinks the water, explaining that “Sunday is a day off”). Deuce, frightened that he will be left without support, also drinks magic water (“They don’t beat a lying person!”). The wise Scarecrow offers to re-educate the kings, and the Guardian of Time distributes to the awakened masters of the craft, who do not remember anything about themselves, so that the former oppressors work honestly. They decide to make Urfin a man: the Scarecrow promises to teach him to be smart, the Tin Woodman to be kind, and the Lion to be brave. There are no more villains left in the Magic Land, and the underground inhabitants make their way to the top.

Story: “The Wizard of the Emerald City”

BASTINDA'S LAST MAGIC

A green-bearded soldier led the travelers to the gates of the Emerald City. The gate guard took off everyone's glasses and hid them in his bag.
-Are you leaving us already? – he asked politely.
“Yes, we have to go,” Ellie answered sadly. – Where does the road to the Violet Country begin?
“There is no road there,” Faramant answered. - No one goes to the country of the evil Bastinda of their own free will.
- How will we find her?
“You won’t have to worry about that,” exclaimed the gate guard. – When you come to the Violet Country, Bastinda herself will find you and take you into slavery.
“Maybe we can deprive her of her magical powers?” - said the Scarecrow.
- Oh, do you want to defeat Bastinda? So much the worse for you! No one has ever tried to fight her except Goodwin, and even he,” the gate guard lowered his voice. - Failed. She will try to capture you before you can do anything. Be careful! Bastinda is a very evil and skilled sorceress, and it is very difficult to deal with her. Go where the sun rises and you will come to her country. I wish you success!
The travelers said goodbye to Faramant and he closed the gates of the Emerald City behind them. Ellie turned east, and the others followed her. Everyone was sad, knowing what a difficult task they had ahead of them. Only the carefree Toto rushed merrily across the field and chased large colorful butterflies: he believed in the strength of the Lion and the Tin Woodman and hoped for the ingenuity of the straw Scarecrow.
Ellie looked at the dog and screamed in amazement: the ribbon on her neck had turned from green to white.
- What does it mean? – she asked her friends.
Everyone looked at each other, and the Scarecrow said thoughtfully:
- Witchcraft!
For lack of any other explanation, everyone agreed with this and moved on. The Emerald City disappeared into the distance. The country was becoming deserted: travelers were approaching the possessions of the evil sorceress Bastinda.
Until midday the sun shone straight into the travelers' eyes, blinding them, but they walked along a rocky plateau, and there was not a single tree to hide in the shade. By evening, Ellie was tired, and Lev injured his paws and was limping.
We stopped for the night. The Scarecrow and the Tin Woodman stood guard, and the others fell asleep.
The evil Bastinda had only one eye, but she saw with it so that there was no corner in the Violet Country that would escape her gaze.
Going out to sit on the porch in the evening, Bastinda looked around her property and shuddered with rage: far, far away, on the border of her property, she saw a little sleeping girl and her friends.
The sorceress blew her whistle. A flock of huge wolves with evil yellow eyes and large fangs protruding from their gaping mouths came running to Bastinda’s palace. The wolves sat down on hind legs and, breathing heavily, looked at Bastinda.
- Run to the west! There you will find a little girl who brazenly entered my country and her companions with her. Tear everyone to shreds!
- Why don’t you take them as slaves? – asked the leader of the pack.
- The girl is weak. Her companions cannot work: one is stuffed with straw, the other is made of iron. And with them is Leo, from whom you also don’t expect much.
This is how I saw Bastinda with my only eye.
The wolves rushed.
- To pieces! To pieces! – the sorceress squealed after him.
But the Scarecrow and the Tin Woodman were not sleeping. They noticed the approach of the wolves in time.
“Let’s wake up the Lion,” said the Scarecrow.

“It’s not worth it,” answered the Tin Woodman. “It’s my job to deal with the wolves.” I'll give them a good meeting!
And he came forward. When the leader ran up to the Tin Woodman, his red mouth opening wide, the Woodman swung his sharpened ax - and the wolf's head flew off. The wolves ran in a line, one after another; As soon as the next one rushed at the Tin Woodman, he was already ready with his ax raised, and the wolf's head fell to the ground.

Bastinda had forty fierce wolves, and the Tin Woodman raised his ax forty times. And when he raised him for the forty-first time, not a single wolf remained alive: they all lay at the feet of the Tin Woodman.
- Wonderful battle! – the Scarecrow admired.
“Trees are more difficult to cut,” the Woodcutter answered modestly.
Friends waited until morning. Waking up and seeing a bunch of dead wolves, Ellie was scared. The Scarecrow told about the night battle and the girl thanked the Tin Woodman with all her heart. After breakfast the company boldly set off.
Old Bastinda loved to lie in bed. She got up late and went out onto the porch to ask the wolves how they killed the daring travelers.
Imagine her anger when she saw that the travelers continued to walk, and the faithful wolves lay dead.
Bastinda whistled twice, and a flock of predatory crows with iron beaks swirled in the air. The sorceress shouted:
- Fly to the west! There are strangers there! Peck them to death! Hurry! Hurry!
The crows, cawing angrily, rushed towards the travelers. Seeing them, Ellie got scared. But the Scarecrow said:
- Dealing with these is my job! It’s not for nothing that I’m a scarecrow of crows! Get behind me! - And he pulled his hat on his head, spread his arms wide and took on the appearance of a real scarecrow.
The crows became confused and circled discordantly in the air. But the leader of the pack croaked hoarsely:
-What are you afraid of? The scarecrow is stuffed with straw! So I’ll ask him now!

And the leader wanted to sit on the Scarecrow’s head, but he caught him by the wing and instantly twisted his neck. Another crow rushed after it, and the Scarecrow also broke its neck. The evil Bastinda had forty predatory crows, and the brave Scarecrow twisted the necks of all of them and threw them into a heap.

The travelers thanked the Scarecrow for his resourcefulness and again moved east.
When Bastinda saw that her faithful crows were lying on the ground in a dead heap, the travelers were moving forward fearlessly, she was seized by both anger and fear.

As I continue to look at the site, I often wonder who are the positive characters here and who are the negative ones? And I can’t clearly answer this question. It would seem that the most negative heroes subsequently do very good deeds, and the seemingly positive heroes do the opposite.

Bastinda - the evil witch from the fairy tale "The Wizard of Oz"

Before she found herself in the Magic Land, the sorceress Bastinda lived in Big world, on the American mainland. The change of her residence surprisingly coincided with a similar decision of three other fairies - Villina, Stella and Gingema.

Immediately upon arrival in the Magic Land, the powerful sorceresses decided to divide it among themselves. As a result of the lot, Bastinida got a remarkable country - Violet.

Bastinda was a charming fairy and sorceress. She had power over animals: wolves, crows with iron beaks, and black bees, whose stings were harmless to her. Also, Bastinda, with the help of the magic Golden Cap, controlled the Flying Monkeys: according to legend, the Monkeys must obediently fulfill the three wishes of the owner of the Golden Cap. With the help of the magical Monkeys, Bastinda managed to capture the country of the Miguns, and also successfully repel the attacks of Goodwin. Bastinda also had an amazing means of transportation - a magic umbrella - which worked on the principle of a flying carpet, transporting the sorceress from place to place.

The last time the sorceress had to resort to the service of the Monkeys was during Ellie and her friends’ trip to the Violet Country, when she lost control over the wolves, bees and crows. Then, having spent the last wish, she was able to win.

Probably I like negative heroes because, firstly, they are beautiful, secondly, they all have a sad story, thirdly, they must be smart, and fourthly, he must be unhappy and lonely. But I think that negative heroes are mysterious, brave, but it’s a pity that sometimes these heroes often die at the end of the film or at the end of the anime... But some heroes realize their guilt and begin to fight for the side of good.

Secrets of the TV debates: why Trump beat Clinton

The premonition of civil war continues to hover over the election campaign in the United States, and that is why the last and, as Stirlitz (aka Colonel Isaev) said, the most important issue of the television debate was the question of the candidates’ readiness to admit defeat and support the winning candidate.

Well, Clinton's vows of allegiance to democracy were of no interest to anyone, since Trump does not yet have any opportunity to falsify the election results, and he can only win honestly. But Trump’s answer immediately caused a lot of controversy, and over time, the cloud of mystery around his answer not only thickened, but lightning began to strike and thunder rolled from it. It must be said that the debate was initially very strange: the hooligan and bully Donald Trump, whom the American media accuses of being a “tomboy” more often than Russian liberals accuse Vladimir Vladimirovich of this, suddenly decided to show himself as a gentleman and spoke about Hillary Clinton’s numerous failures as if she is really the former first lady of the United States, and not a criminal who seized power, any mention of which caused the Republican convention to chant: “Get her in jail!”

Trump was very careful in his choice of expressions, especially explaining that it was Hillary Clinton's experience that disqualified her as a candidate for the presidency of the United States, since her experience in senior government positions had dire consequences for the United States. But he used such complex arguments for this that only specialists could understand them. For example, Hillary Clinton in her election campaign very successfully fights off accusations of creating ISIS (an organization whose activities are banned in the Russian Federation), “moving the needle” either on President Bush, who started the war in Iraq and concluded an agreement with the transitional government of Iraq that determined the exact date withdrawal of American troops, or on President Obama, who carried out this withdrawal in 2011. It was as a result of this that a power vacuum was created in Iraq and a minor Syrian group called the “Islamic State” (an organization whose activities are banned in the Russian Federation) a year and a half ago was able to come from Syria to Mosul and seize 2,300 American Humvee armored vehicles there, as if specially prepared for them in this key city in Iraq from the point of view of its strategic position.

Well, who, besides specialists who have been closely following the ups and downs of American foreign policy for years, could understand Donald Trump’s hints that Hillary Clinton, who as Secretary of State led the negotiations on extending the stay of American troops in Iraq, deliberately failed them against the wishes of both President Obama and Iraqi government? Meanwhile, it was the failure of these negotiations that created the very force that, after dozens of terrorist attacks, not only Donald Trump, but also many of his opponents consider an existential threat to the United States. Well, the fact that Islamist groups pose an existential threat to Russia is clear to everyone after the events at Dubrovka.

Meanwhile, the Mosul incident, in a sense, turned out to be the fulfillment of the “prophecies” of Saudi Arabia’s intelligence chief, Bandar bin Sultan, who came to Moscow in January 2014, when the fire set by Angela Merkel’s Fourth Reich was already in full swing in Kiev. And if we remember that he then threatened to disrupt the Olympics if Russia did not stop supporting the legitimate government of Bashar al-Assad, reaching the already partially fulfilled predictions of a terrorist war that would put nuclear weapons to shame, then the connection between Hillary Clinton’s policies and very large donations to her foundation from Saudi Arabia and Germany it becomes almost obvious. But the way Donald Trump framed his response in the televised debate to Hillary Clinton's charges of cavalry (verbal) attacks on Iran, specifically mentioning Hillary Clinton's cavalry charges on Russia combined with an allegation of NATO's inability and unwillingness to respond to terrorist threats, very little was understandable as a hint that the main existential threat to both the United States and Russia comes from people who are preventing the two great powers from agreeing on joint actions against ISIS (an organization whose activities are banned in the Russian Federation).

Why Trump chose the tactic of hints in the first televised debate, without even mentioning that - unlike Iran - Russia can destroy the United States with the press of a button and cavalry attacks on it are significantly more dangerous than attacks on Iran remains a mystery, but for those in the know, It is clear that during the debate he indicated his readiness to move from accusing Hillary Clinton of weakness as Secretary of State to accusing him of deliberately provoking a conflict between Russia and the United States in the interests of Saudi Arabia, the European Union and ISIS. The latter assumption has acquired particular significance after threats of terrorist attacks on Russia made last week by US Navy Rear Admiral John Kirby, now Hillary Clinton's State Department spokesman. Moreover, the fact that Donald Trump expressed his assumptions in exactly this form 4 days before the rear admiral made his contribution to the art of diplomacy was, to some extent, explained in the response of Hillary Clinton, who at the end of the televised debate simply switched to pig squeal, accusing Trump of ungentlemanly treatment of women.

It seems that this time the result of the US elections will really be determined not only at the polling stations, but also in high offices, where a week ago they watched the televised debates, having previously demanded that the candidates behave within certain limits. And Donald Trump, “predicting” the State Department’s cavalry attacks on Russia, stepped on Hillary’s sore spot, forcing her to leave these frameworks, without leaving them himself. That’s why he shuffled around in front of her during the televised debate, and only after she broke down did he tell how he imagined Hillary Clinton’s rude, or rather harsh, response, but simply could not do it. It is difficult to interpret this statement as anything other than an explanation of his gentlemanly behavior during the first televised debate, addressed to his supporters, and a threat addressed to listeners in high offices to abandon him if Hillary Clinton does not return to the established framework.

But she cannot return to them due to her character, although she declares Trump’s temperament unsuitable for the post of president. The fact of the matter is that she put forward the thesis about his temperament in order to avoid a discussion about foreign policy essentially, but after Vladimir Putin’s statement about withdrawing from the treaty on the disposal of weapons-grade plutonium, this is hardly possible. Especially considering that it was Hillary Clinton who signed the protocol to this agreement in 2011, which filled it with specific content. It will be very strange if at the next TV debate the presenters do not ask the candidates a question about 34 tons of weapons-grade plutonium, which is enough for 17 thousand warheads, especially since the Russian President linked the question of returning to this treaty with the Western policy in Ukraine, the candidates’ opinions about which came in head-on collision, in the best possible way demonstrating their differences. We can say that Vladimir Vladimirovich rolled the ball to Donald Fredovich into the penalty area at the next televised debate, and chose the most convenient moment for this, since on the day of the announcement of withdrawal from the treaty, a televised debate of vice presidents was to take place, showing all the unprotected places of Hillary Clinton in connection with this question.

Now, if at the next Trump-Clinton televised debate the question arises about the damage to US security caused by Hillary Clinton's experience as Secretary of State, already raised by Trump at the previous televised debate, 34 tons of weapons-grade plutonium will give this issue a special radioactive urgency. Russia can very quickly and cheaply put a significant part of these 17 thousand plutonium warheads on its new missiles, capable of carrying 10 warheads each and already installed on the latest ultra-quiet nuclear submarines, which have been put into operation during the two years that the Nazis have been rampaging in Ukraine, especially if President Hillary Clinton, as she promised, will officially begin supplying the Ukronazis with the latest weapons.

In addition, they will undoubtedly add a degree of tension to the confrontation between Trump supporters, who do not believe in the ability of the self-proclaimed Democratic candidate to win the election fairly, and her supporters, who are ready to put a complete criminal in the chair of the US President in the name of the political axioms about “The One” that have been drilled into their heads. Superpower”, which just collapsed after the Russian President announced that Russia would withdraw from the treaty on the disposal of decaying materials.

This is what explains the presenter's last question about the candidates' readiness to admit defeat and why the current elections represent emergency apocalyptic proportions that required the intervention of those whom Trump addressed at the last televised debate. And his answer to this question about how thousands of illegal immigrants illegally acquired US citizenship was undoubtedly a veiled statement that he would only recognize elections that were fair. In particular, they will not use the votes of newly minted US citizens who received citizenship illegally solely so that they could vote for Hillary Clinton in the upcoming election.

The televised debate organizers and those in a position to stop Hillary Clinton's political machine from rigging the election results are clearly afraid of civil war, and if they wanted to take Trump at his word, they didn't do a good job of it. Indeed, all those who listened to Trump's answer to this question live now claim that it was distorted by interference and in the final version of the televised debate, in which this interference is not heard, the adjective "fair" is applied to the noun "election" in Trump's promise to recognize their results were cut out, and the thunder and lightning that comes from this cloud of mystery around this issue will, perhaps, be more dangerous for the United States than those 34 tons of weapons-grade plutonium that Vladimir Vladimirovich just refused to dispose of.

“A cloud of bees with a furious buzzing attacked the Tin Woodman. The Woodman smiled: the bees broke their poisonous stings on the iron and immediately died, since bees cannot live without a sting. They fell, others flew in their place and also tried to thrust their stings into the Woodman’s iron body Soon all the bees were lying dead on the ground, like a pile of black coals."

To defeat them, she had to use her third wish. After this, her strength decreased. But she noticed Ellie’s silver shoes and with their help she hoped to become even stronger.

But Bastinda had a weak point. She was afraid of water and did not touch it for 500 years. When she tried to take the shoes from Ellie, she poured dirty water on her.
