Today, the French company Leroy Merlin, specializing in the sale of goods for construction, decoration and furnishings, held a presentation of its innovative distribution center with an area of 92 thousand square meters. m. on the territory of the Southern Gate Industrial Park. This is a unique high-tech facility.

Delegations from the Government of the Moscow Region and the administration of the Domodedovo urban district arrived for the presentation.

The developer of the new center is Radius Group, a leading developer of Class A warehouse and industrial real estate in Russia. Investments in the project by the retail chain amounted to about 5 billion rubles and thanks to it, 700 new jobs were created. The distribution center is located at the intersection of Kashirskoye Highway and A-107 “betonka” road.
Convenient transport accessibility allows you to optimize logistics costs and keep prices for your products as low as possible.

The new center was built using innovative design and construction technologies, being not only the largest in its class, but also one of the most environmentally friendly and energy efficient buildings in Russia. The center's capacity will allow it to simultaneously load and unload more than 89 trailers and serve more than 75 stores in the region.

The distribution center uses, among other things, cross-dock technology, which makes it possible to minimize the time goods spend in the warehouse and increase turnover. The center was built with reserves and a reserve for the future; it will house an online store in which 30,000 items of goods will be available.

Speaking at the opening, the Minister of Investment and Innovation of the Moscow Region Denis Petrovich Butsaev noted that the new distribution center will make a significant contribution to the economy of the Moscow region.

Leonid Pavlovich Kovalevsky spoke about the successes of the Radius Group, which has been developing the South Gate park for ten years, and that retail stores are expected to open in Domodedovo.

At the end, Vincent Genty, General Director of Leroy Merlin Russia, took the floor. He noted that Russia is one of the most important markets for Leroy Merlin, with great growth potential. At the same time, one of Leroy Merlin’s priorities today is the highest efficiency of the entire supply chain. The new center will not only optimize the company's logistics for faster and more reliable service to stores, but will also improve product availability and customer satisfaction. The company has big plans, in the future the number of stores in Russia will be increased to one hundred, and it is also planned to increase the share of products from Russian manufacturers from 50% to 70-80%.

Vincent Genty also stated that the opening of such a large distribution center would have been impossible without the support of the administration of the Moscow region and the Domodedovo urban district, without people like Leonid Pavlovich Kovalevsky and Dmitry Igorevich Gorodetsky.

The new Leroy Merlin warehouse uses innovative construction and finishing materials, as well as the latest world-class technologies in the field of fire safety, energy efficiency, and the reliability of engineering systems. The warehouse design allows for unprecedented operational efficiency with high throughput transit areas, specially designed mezzanine floors for processing small orders and storage buffer zones.

Highly efficient supply ventilation systems maintain the temperature at +18°C, even when the outside temperature drops to -28°C. Air recirculation is 90%. The warehouse building is equipped with a fire extinguishing system with three pumps - the main one and two spare ones, one of which is connected to a separate diesel generator. LED lighting, controlled by motion sensors, provides bright and energy-efficient lighting. The level floors are made of special concrete slabs and can withstand loads of up to seven tons per square meter.

The Leroy Merlin distribution center today receives about 200 vehicles and ships up to 150 eurotrucks per day. Volumes will grow, in the future increasing shipment volumes to 400-500 trucks per day. Despite the crisis, Leroy Merlin's business is growing by 20% per year, the company offers its customers a large selection of quality products, affordable prices and a high level of service.

Governor of the Moscow Region Andrey Vorobyov laid a capsule at the foundation of the new North Star distribution center of the Leroy Merlin company in the Dmitrovsky urban district. The ceremony was also attended by the General Director of Leroy Merlin Vostok LLC, Vincent Jeanty, and the Managing Director of the developer company PNK Group, Evgeny Skaridov.

It’s nice that these large, comfortable stores are growing not only in the Moscow region, but also in other parts of our country,” said Andrey Vorobyov.
